The Beasts will rove with glee with masks galore on May 12th at the 
Atheneum, and will costume small adventurous children as well!

A child’s world is all about imagination and adventure… take a magical journey through the Wadsworth Atheneum

 and find places of wonder in art! Make a plan for your own island and fill it with fabulous creatures. 

Romp with the Mystic Paper Beasts and hear live music by Kate Callahan and Andre Balazs. 

Then journey to Never Never Land during a free screening of the 2003 film about the mischievous Peter Pan.

			Yay!  The first Earth Day at the Dragon’s Egg – and it was a glorious day full of drenching rains, skidding children, organic worms and foods, massage and soaps, sacred bundles and drumming, dancing, poetry, storytelling, tai chi, singing.   It was a fine day for all, and we look forward to this being a new yearly event at the Dragon’s Egg!   Thanks to all.   namaste, marya

TIBETAN STICK  DANCING


 


 A workshop with Dr. David  Chandler 


Director,  Eagle’s Quest Tai  Chi Center


When:  Sunday, June  3    2-5 pm


Where:  The Dragon’s  Egg  401  Shewville Rd.  Ledyard, CT 


Cost:  $ 45  (snack included)   






 


Tibetan Stick-dancing covers a range of  moving meditations that are used for training in stick fighting.  


 The techniques are fun, diverse, and  simple to learn. They are helpful for increasing balance,  


 stimulating the lymphatic system, and  increasing energy, concentration, precision, and connection to a  partner.  


 There are many different sets  including a hand set  taught  by  Master Jou  called the Six Set, the Eight Set (based on a  double sword training mechanism witnessed in China and developed by Tibetan  Monks), and a Chan Ssu Chin set developed out of reeling silk exercises. 


This is an  especially fun workshop and is open to all, ages 10 and  up. 


 Children  under 16 are half price if accompanied by an adult.  No previous  experience is necessary.


Sticks will be  provided for the workshop.  If you have sticks, please feel free to bring  them. 


There will also  be sticks available for sale after the workshop.


Dress in  comfortable, light weight clothing.  No outdoor shoes are allowed on  the studio floor. 


Please bring a  water bottle.
